In addition to our events, projects, and fundraisers, we assist individuals and families referred to us by local schools, organizations, and professionals. We provide this assistance confidentially, but always through the support of our community, volunteers, and donors.

Fundraising in a New Way Through the Pandemic:

Please support our two current fundraisers; Keith’s Krazy Birthday Wonderful Wheel of Winning on Facebook, and our shoe drive fundraiser accepting all types of new and gently used shoes through November 12.

We recently held our annual Halloween costume giveaway. Due to the generosity of so many donors, we still have plenty of costumes left.  Please call 631-848-9008 through October 25, for an appointment to choose your new costume!

Friday, October 16, we finished five consecutive weeks with our volunteers putting together comfort cases for children removed from their homes by CPS due to neglect.  This year, with the help of local communities we were able to assembles a record 256 comfort cases. Thanks to many local mask makers we were able to include a new reusable mask in each comfort case.

The HMUH 5th annual “Summer of Feeding Families” took place during the months of July and August. Along with our many volunteers and donors we were blessed to be able to purchase, sort, box, and deliver over 11,000 pounds of food each week to 39 families referred to HMUH by local schools. We also put together and delivered backpacks filled with school supplies to 79 children from these families.

Thanks to an amazing donation from a local community member, we were recently able to host a new clothing giveaway at the Presbyterian Church of the Moriches Food Pantry. We will also be hosting a winter outerwear giveaway in the near future.

This summer, in an effort to promote safe COVID protocols, HMUH purchased 250 face masks from a local hardware store, and requested that masks be donated to customers in need. We also purchased hundreds of reusable masks that volunteers then tie-dyed for us.

Thank you to everyone who donated to HMUH by participating in our Summer Staycation Raffle. And a very special thank you to,, East Moriches Hardware, Lucharitos, Drueks True Value, Chubs Meats, DQ Medford, and Golden Pear Cafe for their prize donations!

Keith was honored by Smile Farms for his commitment to community service , with the "Farmer of the Year" award as part of their 5th Anniversary Benefit!
