PROJECTS
Winter
Scholarships Fundraiser (January)
Every January Keith holds his annual Super Bowl Party Raffle to raise money for Scholarships for High School Seniors. This month-long event funds all four scholarships we present to deserving students- 3 HMUH scholarships and the Martha O'Brien Hometown scholarship which HMUH is proud to fund.
Valentines Day Fundraiser (February)
Each Valentines Day we are proud to partner with the Dairy Queen in Medford for a pizza and ice cream cake fundraiser which raises money to help children with cancer.
Spring
Easter Baskets (March/April)
As we head into spring Helping Makes U Happy, with assistance from community members and local high school students, provides Easter Baskets for children referred to them by school social workers and administrators in area school districts.
Prom Impact Project (April/May)
Through mid-April we will happily accept donations of dresses/shoes/ bag and especially suits/shoes for young men of prom age for this worthy cause. Helping Makes U Happy is proud to have donate prom dresses and shoes to this project, presented SCPD Prom Impact.
Spring/Summer
Memorial Day Breakfast (May)
Every year HMUH, along with community volunteers, hosts a Memorial Day breakfast for local veterans, the military and their families at VFW post 414 in Center Moriches. We also provide for delivery of a deli breakfast to the homeless veterans sheltered at The Vets Place in Yaphank.
Senior Scholarships (June)
June is a busy month for Helping Makes U Happy as we select and present $1000 scholarships funded by HMUH and administrate the Joseph Rera Memorial Scholarship to deserving seniors who have shown an extraordinary commitment to community service in 3 area high schools- Center Moriches, ESM, William Floyd.
Summer
Summer of Feeding the Families (July)
Early July starts our annual program of supplying and delivering boxes of non-perishable foods to families referred to us by local schools. Watch for weekly info on shopping, sorting, packing, and delivering.
School Supplies and Backpack Collection (August/September)
Helping Makes U Happy collects school supplies and backpacks to provide to students returning to school each year.
Fall
Halloween Costume Giveaway (September/October)
Our annual Halloween costume giveaway. Every year, with the help of local communities, we collect gently used Halloween costumes and accessories and invite the public for a free costume. Look for us yearly at the Center Moriches Fall Street Fair.
HMUH Chinese Auction (October)
Each October HMUH hosts it's widely renowned huge Chinese auction which raises the majority of the funds used for helping in our communities. In light of the current pandemic, this year we will be replacing the Chinese Auction with a smaller Casino Night on Nov, 13.
Fall/Winter
Thanksgiving Food Boxes (November)
Thanksgiving Food Boxes: With the help of many local scout troops, clubs, organizations, the SCPD COPE officers, and community members we are able to provide Thanksgiving food boxes and turkeys to many area residents referred to us.
Holiday Parade Float (December)
Holiday Parade of Lights Float Building: Each December Keith and the Helping Makes U Happy board, together with volunteers spend one week building a float which has been many months in the planning. The float is designed to bring joy to children of all ages. We've been honored to win trophies 5 years in a row!
Holiday Food Baskets (December)
With the help of many community members we are able to provide Holiday food baskets and gifts to many area residents referred to us.

Comfort Cases
Each year Keith and with help from his community assembles "Comfort Cases" for children who must be removed from their homes due to neglect. These are the children who truly leave home with nothing but what they can carry in a garbage bag. Our support help bring light to a tough situation.
YEAR ROUND
Year-Round Collections
All year round we happily accept your donations of gently used or new hooded sweatshirts, coats, winter hats, scarves, gloves, blankets, Halloween costumes, and new-with- tags stuffed animals.

Guest Chef Night
Keep a look out for Keith's next "Guest Chef Night". This fun-filled fundraiser event is hosted by a local restaurant, while Keith makes an appearance as a guest chef. A portions of the sale are donated to HMUH.
